Back from a good (but cold!) 24hrs in Blackpool. I arrived about 5.35pm, later than I had expected due to the local constabulary forcing me to a little above 60mph on the M55, which displeased me, given that I'd made such good progress up to that point. Anyway, on arrival I parked up and headed up to the center to meet with the remainder of the group. Once I'd calmed down from seeing the Casino, Iceblast, Flying Machines and Infusion illuminated, I almost froze on my way up. Seeking refuge in Coral Island was decided upon, until the rest of the group finished the talk in the Brilliance control room. Fortunatly, after meeting up with everyone, we were allowed up again so I could see it for myself. I've got to say a lot more goes into it that you would expect, and I'd like to thank Greg and Peter for allowing/arranging for us to be allowed to see it.

Sunday saw Becca and I spend the day at PB, which was enjoyable, but not helped by the sub-zero conditions. IceBlast, River Caves and the Grand National failled to open, Infusion was experiencing some problem or other towards the end of the day, but full credit has to go the park for even attempting to open in these conditions, and the staff who spent most of the day shivering but still managed to keep a good spirt, special mention goes to the Beach Burger staff (over from Alice), the Wild Mouse crew and Infusion for allowing re-rides on the final runs of the day. Infusion really comes to life for winter weekends when its mostly in darkness, it angers me the PB refuse to operate this way for fright nights.

One thing I would like to see return to winter weekends is a stall selling hot soup, chestnuts, and chocolate logs. In the final year of winter weekends being held in the South park this was set up outside the Steeplechase and seemed popular enough, I wasn't pleased when Embertons wasn't open today, I wanted some soup!

Thanks to Becca for a great weekend, and of course to Peter/Greg for sorting out the tour sat night, I'll try put in a full day next time instead of turning up for the last 5mins  ;)

Pics will follow, Nickelodeon pics will appear in the NL topic.
