No surprise. It has been great down the years to give him a few verbals, but you can't deny the guys pedigree and despite his spats down the years, I like him. If he was English we would have knighted him, no doubt.

I'm sure he will carry on playing International cricket for a while yet, but losing the Ashes then relinquishing the ODI World Cup crown they'd held for 3 consecutive tournaments was too much for him to be able to retain the captaincy.
