Chessington World Of Adventures 19.4.11
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:36:11 AM »
Over the Easter Holidays, we decided to make good use of our new Merlin Passes :thumbup1:  First up on the list was Chessington, a brilliant park that we haven't been to for nearly two years.

Unfortunately, we were late leaving and arrived very late in the morning to a heaving park. Despite the late start, we still managed several rides and enjoyed the lovely sunshine.

Ben is excited about seeing the zoo.

Kane and I queued for Drangon's Fury whilst the rest of the family hit the zoo.

This man must have been sweltering in the heat

Time for some riders to cool off on Rameses Revenge.

Kane And I met up with the family and walked around some of the zoo.

Looking For Meerkats. Simples!

Ben tests his speed.

..and also measures up

The Holiday Inn next door, looks great :thumbup1:

..and new for this year has a 'Savannah' theme. It looks incredible and on a hot, sunny day must really achieve the desired affect..

A helping hand from bruv.

Didn't have time to ride the excellent Rattlesnake this time

After a mediocre lunch, we headed for the Monorail.
We passed some entertainment.

Monorail, mirror shot.

The rail is looking pretty worn!

You get really close to the trees.

We pass the Sealife attraction.

..and the Sea Lion show.

Then it was time for me to ride Vampire, which is celebrating it's 21st year at Chessington. It's still a corker of a ride

This Twighlight Zone attraction is only on until May and is part of the anniversary celebrations of Vampire.

The station themeing is amazing.

It was brilliant to visit Chessington again. It was very busy but well worth the trip :thumbup1:

Nice report, I haven't been since 2007 however the park looks great. How did you find Wild Asia the new area?

Also Vampire is a great ride and you didn't miss out on much rattlesnakes just a bog standard wild mouse anyway.

Also Thats a quite a well themed Holiday Inn!

Keep up the great reports, Your photos are looking great!

Thanks for the kind words, Alex. I don't think I explored Wild Asia but could be wrong. I do disagree about Rattlesnake though. I really like it. It's brilliantly themed and I love how it dips under covered sections, which make it more exciting. Due to our late arrival, I just didn't have time to ride it, that visit. On a previous visit in poor weather, I was able to score a few goes in a short space of time 8)
