The promenade Windmill - Past, Present, Future

Well, I have finally found a great photo on flickr of the windmill in its last position opposite Waterloo Road, before it was removed from the prom for the works on the new headlands.

This is the one and only I have found so far showing it lit up at night during the illuminations. I will try and do some research shortly and bring some history of its lifetime and investigate where it is now and what the future may hold.  :thumbup1:

slight problem with the footage it pre digital and was originally vhs-c so wont show on dvd drive on computer-will have to work on this one although i have found pictures!!!.I had a brainstorming session and thought who would have pictures and the credit to these ones go to the windmill hotel on the prom which was named after the little structure

look forward to it chris, hopefully sometime in the future it will be rebuilt and resited where it should truely be,back at the prom side of waterloo road.If it was deemed a community asset or a structure if importance landfill tax money via entrust may be forthcoming, not sure but if the friends of blackpool illuminations were to apply it may stand a better chance than if a council based section applied for it.Better still if a media campaign (blackpool gazette)got involved it may get money locally from landfill
