Blackpool and District : Now and Then
« on: July 07, 2012, 04:40:50 PM »
Had a quick look and can not see this posted anywhere.

An on-line book about the history of the Fylde coast and Blackpool. Obviously plenty of info pre-dates Blackpool as we know it now.

Cannot take the credit for finding that. It was posted on one of the Blackpool FC websites the other day.

Some interesting things in there about village/town names and where they come from etc

I've opened it and have just been having a read.

It was actually linked to on here a year or so ago. I have a feeling it was Eric who linked to it.

Nonetheless it is a brilliant find and fascinating read.

I've only read the first ten pages now. In the past I have flicked through various bits of it and I found a link with Shrewsbury!!

Much Kudos must go to Nick Moore for putting such a fascinating, detailed piece of work together  :thumbup1:
