So, apologies again for lack of updates !

Popped down this evening for a wee walk with Emily. There's some difference in the size and scale of the bridge since the last update.

We also now have the joy of Average Speed Cameras until the bridge's completion next year too !

Hope you enjoy the pictures !

View from the new North Queensferry approach road:

North Tower rising above the hotel car park

The three towers. Now not far off being as tall as they're going to be !

I wouldn't fancy getting this lift to work every day !

Equally, I wouldn't like to work this crane !

Workers platform.

Just off the lift  8)

Not quite sure what this big contraption is doing ?  ???

Another crane. This one over the North approach

South Approach

The old Forth Road Bridge. Soon to become for buses only !

Some rowers out on the water. Random !

The bridge isn't the only massive construction project on the go....Aircraft Carrier also well under way at Rosyth

I can think of better places for a cruise stopover !  :(

And to end (for now....) the new towers looking pretty good against another grim Scottish summer sky !

More updates to follow as the bridge nears completion.

Thanks for looking  :)

Thanks folks  :thumbup1:

So, my updates are akin to waiting for a bus. Bugger all for ages and then 2 come along at once

Emily and I took the car over to South Queensferry this evening to enjoy some sunshine and get under the South Span of the bridge.

The photos honestly don't do the size of this thing any justice at all. It's bloody massive lol !

Old and new side by side...

Cracking views of the existing bridges

Standing directly underneath the new South approach

If there's been an accident today, I hope it's not been serious !

Thanks again for looking. I'll keep trying to get down there now that the speed of change is becoming more and more noticeable.

The bridge is now into its final few months of construction and therefore it's time for another update  8)

The road deck is really starting to take shape, and several of the cables are now in place.

The North tower is now fully constructed.

Spot the High-Vis workmen at the end of this road deck

Some more road deck heading out to be lifted up.

This is where the Northern viaduct will soon be constructed.

And here's a view of the South Side

Several of the cables are now in place. These are specially coated to avoid the corrosion problems seen on the current crossing.

A very busy scene on the central tower.

This is where the cables are being spun. I will need to get a video of this in action !

Another piece of road deck being fastened in place

There's a lot going on here  8)

These guys have got a good head for heights !

And here's how they get up to their work  :tongue_smilie:

Completing the top of the North Tower. Now making this the tallest bridge in the UK

These guys are working some 500 feet above the Forth. Rather them than me !

To finish off, a view of the construction looking South.

Thanks for looking. Now that the west pavement on the current crossing is open to the public 24/7 there are more opportunites than ever to get photos of the new bridge being built, so I'll be aiming to be down there as often as I can with the camera.
