Snowdon Mountain Railway - Easter 2015
« on: April 27, 2015, 09:52:15 PM »
We took a trip up the Snowdon Mountain railway, whilst in Wales. I've been up there before a couple of times and it's an amazing experience.  :thumbup1:

I would have loved to have walked up but as I have a messed up knee, it's just not possible.
The start of the railway is at a town called Llan Beris. We drove it's mountain pass to get there. It was one of the most incredible (but a bit scary!) drives of my life  :w00t:

We arrived early and had lunch at the station. I tried an original Welsh Oggie. It's like a Cornish Pasty but on steroids! I've never seen one so big!

Photos from the Railway journey:
Our train arrives.

Family selfie on the train!

The train stops two thirds up. (Journeys to the summit start in May.)
Views from where we got off.

About as close to the edge as we'd dare!

If you haven't been up Snowdon before, I urge you to do it. It's a bit pricey but the experience is utterly unique. Beautiful doesn't adequately express, what this part of Wales is like. A truly fantastic place!
