Hi everyone

I've been looking at this site for a while, but have only taken the plunge today to register.

I thought I would come here and 'introduce' myself first.

My name is Chris Wynne, I am 45 married to Linda and have an 8 year old daughter Rebecca and a son, Joshua who is 6.

I was born and still live in Shrewsbury (an area called Belle Vue - hence my username) I am an STFC season ticket holder and also follow Blackpool FC (I used to drive to a lot of games, home and away if Town weren't playing). I made Wembley in May where I kept up my 100% record of following 'Pool at the home of football.

I have been coming to Blackpool for family holidays since I was a babe in arms and now come up with my own family. I love the illuminations and my claim to fame is that I won a competition run by the Gazette/Illuminations Dept a couple of years ago whereby I had to send a photo and say why we should be picked to appear in the illuminations. I sent a family photograph taken by the Mirror Ball and an 'Ode to Blackpool Lights' to accompany it.

We were fortunate enough to win and our family portrait appeared on the Queens Promenade in the 2008 illuminations. Making me a very proud person  ;D  :)  ;D

I travel to Shrewsbury quite often, one of my customers is Morris Lubricants ( ex STFC sponsors a few years back ), always have a bit of banter with them as our meetings usually start with the current state of our two teams.

Shrewsbury is a lovely place -- if a nightmare to drive around ! The surrounding areas are great too, Ironbridge is one of my most favourite places not too distant from you.

Had a BMW of mine decide to 'inject' fuel directly into my engine bay instead of into the engine on the A49 passing Shrewsbury once, I had to get the firebrigade out, get towed to the BMW dealers next to MacDonalds on Battlefield Road and a hire car from Enterprise.

So if you work at Morris, The Fire Brigade, BMW dealers, Macdonalds, Tesco, Morrisons, Enterprise, The great little sports shop in the town centre, any of the pubs or just drive a car round Shrewsbury I might have met you already :)

Questions are a burden to others, answers a prison for oneself.

Hi Eric,

Being a medieval town, Shrewsbury wasn't built for the motor car!  ;D

I am biased of course, but you are right Shrewsbury and much of Shropshire is to be admired.

By the way I work for none of those places you mentioned, thouh there is a little link in that you mentioned Morris Lubricants, ex shirt sponsors of STFC and I actually work for GRS (Greenhous Remarketing Services) in the accounts department. They are part of the Greenhous group who currently sponsor not only the shirts, but now the stadium name as well (Greenhous Meadow)!!
